30-Day Returns

As long as the equipment is returned in new, re-saleable condition, within 30 days of the Return Authorization we will refund your original purchase cost without any re-stock fee!

**For the health and welfare of others, we regret that we cannot allow toileting or bathing/shower product returns because of sanitary and personal hygiene reasons. Some manufacturers will not permit returns on certain products. Due to the custom, hand-made nature of Beds by George products, beds and accessories are not returnable. Please check with Customer Service if you have any questions.

There are certain things you must do in the event of a return.

1) Keep your original carton and packing materials for safe transport! Please carefully repack the items in their original packaging so they are secure and tight inside the box. Utilize any plastic bags that came with your order - they protect items from vibration during shipping.

2) Contact us within 30 days of the receipt of the products. Email us or call us for return instructions and a Return Authorization number.

You must have a Return Authorization number to ensure that your return is processed.

Some important notes about returns:

    • You will be responsible for the return shipping cost. To protect yourself, use a delivery service that has a tracking # and insurance. A refund will not be given on merchandise that is lost by the carrier.

    • If you paid a shipping fee on your original order for expedited, international or other shipping it is Non-Refundable even upon return of your order.

  • Please note that returns may go back to a different location than they originated from. If you return an item to our warehouse in New York without a Return Authorization Number the cost we incur to ship the item to the manufacturer's warehouse on your behalf will be deducted from the amount of your credit, if any.

If the item cannot be made re-sellable you have the option of:

1. Paying to have the item delivered back to you.
2. Adjustment to credit for a 25% Disposal Fee.

If you have any questions, please feel free to either email us at info@adaptivemall.com or call us at 1-800-371-2778 or 1-315-429-7112 to reach Customer Service. We are here to help!

Down syndrome, also known as trisomy 21, is a genetic disorder caused by the presence of all or part of a third copy of chromosome 21. You will see references to 3-21 within the Down syndrome community, like March 21st is World Down Syndrome Day. In our efforts to help Carrie share her purpose: wanting you to choose to be kind, generous and accepting to all that have Down syndrome and are differently-abled, we are offering the 3 for $21 Program to encourage you to help Carrie get her message out too!

  1. KEEP one for yourself
  2. GIVE one to a friend or family member
  3. DONATE one to a public library, school library or Down syndrome organization

Carrie's Original Special Tomato Story:

Below is Carrie's original Special Tomato story that she wrote for an English assignment in High School. She shares this story when she speaks to organizations, schools and colleges to help spread the word that being different is OK! She has always had the dream to write a children's book version to be able share her message with even more people!

The Special Tomato of My Family!

My dad and mom had four children. The first three children were healthy and regular people. Then I came along, a baby with a difference, Down syndrome. I had a hole in my heart, a rip in my heart valve, jaundice, a big tongue and a wobbly head. As I got older I also realized that I am a slow learner.

One day it was bothering me that I was having a hard time doing my school work. I told my dad about this problem and he shared a story about when he was out in his garden picking tomatoes the year I was born. Every year my dad grows a garden and loves to plant tomatoes. At harvest time there were Beefsteak tomatoes on a bush. When he saw a differently shaped tomato it got his attention. It had a large, smooth, bright red enlarged side that made my dad want to pick it up and study the bump because it was so unique and looked appetizing. At supper, that tomato was just as juicy as the others.

Even though I'm different like the tomato as a person with Down syndrome, my family and friends love me even more and want to help me when I need it. My dad tells me that even though I have more difficulty learning than my brother and sisters, my lovable and outgoing personality and strong character make me just as special as they are. I guess I am the special "tomato" on our family's bush!

What Carrie Wants You to Know about Down syndrome

Carrie was born in 1976 with Down syndrome. She has an extra 21st chromosome. Down syndrome CANNOT be shared like a cold or any other infection. No one knows the cause. One of her friends with Down syndrome called it “Up syndrome.” Another friend calls the extra chromosome, “The Love Chromosome.” She wants you to know that she was a child with Down syndrome and now is an adult with Down syndrome. It would be impolite to call her a “Downs” person. She also hopes you NEVER use the hurtful word, retard.

Carrie had therapies beginning as a six- week old baby: physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy. She always had extra help in preschool, elementary school, high school and community college. She works very hard to get her body and brain to be the best they can be, even though it has been frustrating for her at times. “It always takes me longer to learn but I usually do it!”

Her two sisters and brother have always been there for her along with many friends. There were a few bullies in school who made her feel very sad and lonely. She hopes that you will choose to be kind, generous and accepting to all that have Down syndrome and are differently-abled…and “Carrie on!”

Carrie has the same feelings and hopes as anyone and wants to make a difference in this world for those with Down syndrome. She hopes her story: Tommy, the Special Tomato will help you
understand about Down syndrome and encourage you to become a friend with someone with Down syndrome or any disability.

Carrie-on!

Carrie donates a portion of the proceeds for the sale of each Tommy: The Special Tomato Book to Down syndrome organizations and gifts the book directly to those that would benefit from it.
