As long as the equipment is returned in new, re-saleable condition, within 30 days of the Return Authorization we will refund your original purchase cost without any re-stock fee!
**For the health and welfare of others, we regret that we cannot allow toileting or bathing/shower product returns because of sanitary and personal hygiene reasons. Some manufacturers will not permit returns on certain products. Due to the custom, hand-made nature of Beds by George products, beds and accessories are not returnable. Please check with Customer Service if you have any questions.
There are certain things you must do in the event of a return.
1) Keep your original carton and packing materials for safe transport! Please carefully repack the items in their original packaging so they are secure and tight inside the box. Utilize any plastic bags that came with your order - they protect items from vibration during shipping.
2) Contact us within 30 days of the receipt of the products. Email us or call us for return instructions and a Return Authorization number.
You must have a Return Authorization number to ensure that your return is processed.
Some important notes about returns:
You will be responsible for the return shipping cost. To protect yourself, use a delivery service that has a tracking # and insurance. A refund will not be given on merchandise that is lost by the carrier.
If you paid a shipping fee on your original order for expedited, international or other shipping it is Non-Refundable even upon return of your order.
Please note that returns may go back to a different location than they originated from. If you return an item to our warehouse in New York without a Return Authorization Number the cost we incur to ship the item to the manufacturer's warehouse on your behalf will be deducted from the amount of your credit, if any.
If the item cannot be made re-sellable you have the option of:
1. Paying to have the item delivered back to you. 2. Adjustment to credit for a 25% Disposal Fee.
If you have any questions, please feel free to either email us at info@adaptivemall.com or call us at 1-800-371-2778 or 1-315-429-7112 to reach Customer Service. We are here to help!
The TherAdapt Adjustable Classroom Chair has a simple, unique design offering support to stabilize the legs and pelvis in a manner that promotes erect spinal alignment. The seat is angled slightly downward (10 degrees). This encourages an anterior pelvic tilt and extension through the lumbar region (low back). This pelvic position is the foundation for the normal physiologic curves of the spine during healthy upright posture. This is especially important for children with low muscle tone and decreased core strength who often round their backs in sitting, with a posterior pelvic tilt and forward head (often referred to as “C” sitting).
"I really love the results in sitting posture I see with students who typically sit with a flexed trunk and hyperextended neck in a regular chair. They get excited when I bring them their "race car chair". Their classmates wish they had "race car chairs" too!" Carol Keller, PT Derby, KS
The TherAdapt Adjustable Classroom Chair is available in 3 sizes- Early Intervention (ACC-100), Primary (ACC-200), and Intermediate (ACC-300). It is appropriate for children with mild to moderate physical involvement up to 150 lbs.(68kg). Each chair is height adjustable using 4 sets of predrilled holes. All adjustments are made using pre-drilled holes and a stem bolt with hand tightened knob assembly. Using the same-paired holes on both the front and back creates a seat angle with a 10 degree downward slant and is the recommended seat angle for this chair, however other angles are possible using other pairings of holes. The Adjustable Classroom Chair comes standard with depth adjustable knee pads, sacral (low back) block and adjustable pelvic positioning belt with a side release buckle. With its angled seat and supportive padded knee blocks, clinicians have found this is an excellent place to practice and progress the sit to stand transition as children have increased confidence shifting their weight forward over knees that are well stabilized. It is also a great place to practice reaching and trunk rotation activities for core strengthening. The seat itself is extremely stable encouraging independence in getting on and off the chair. This provides a motor planning activity well suited as a developmental step towards learning to get onto and off a less stable ride on toy or tricycle. The mid-section of the chair can also act as a postural guide for children with adductor spasticity (increased muscle tone of the muscles of the inner thigh that pulls knees together or crosses legs). The knee blocks help maintain this neutrally aligned position of the legs and provide sensory feedback for enhanced motor learning. Pairing this chair with an Extended Easel with Leg Set found in the Accessory Section creates an optimal configuration of support for a well aligned posture as a child works at their school desk.
Options for the TherAdapt Adjustable Classroom Chair include:
The optional TherAdapt Padded Seat Pad is constructed of suede Naugahyde and provides a cushioned, slip resistant surface for increased comfort and encourages increased sitting time. It attaches to the seat with hook and loop fasteners.
The optional Sacral Pad is constructed of Naugahyde and provides increased comfort and encourages increased sitting time. It slips over the sacral block (low back support) and attaches with hook and loop fasteners.
NOTE: The Adjustable Classroom Chair is not designed for users with either a fixed thoracic kyphosis or scoliosis, limited hip range of motion, or a history of hip dislocations. It should be evaluated by a licensed therapist and the user should be monitored for fatigue secondary to the dynamic nature of the chair.
